Its highly unlikely you'll ever get any wifi access point to traverse 150ft and then penetrate steel siding. Stick with your current router and invest in two Ubiquiti M5 radios (nanostation, nanobridge, etc) and set them up as a bridge (this is simply a wireless Cat5 cable connecting the buildings). There are videos all over youtube to do this. Then just add an access point inside the shop. We use Ubiquiti Unifi access points and they work beautifully all over the farm (5 currently). None of your current equipment is going to limit your speed, a 2.4Ghz radio will easily run way over 50Mbps so there isn't a need to upgrade unless is not a reliable router.
