NE SD | The Nighthawk would handle 4k streaming (I don't think your current one would), but I doubt if you'll get any added range. I just upgraded to a Dlink DIR 890 AC3200 and I get roughly the same range as my previous 7 or 8 year old N router but not more. Up close and personal it's fantastic though. I get right up to what I'm paying for speed wise, and have no trouble running multiple devices without slowing down. Don't get me wrong, it's not that it has poor range, I can still walk outside of my house and get a good signal a couple hundred feet give or take. It just really cranks it up at a closer distance.
I figured I might as well spend the extra money in case I bump up my service in the future. | |
