Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Except that in Trump's case the people who actually lost the $900 million were the banks and the investors. For example, suppose I borrow $900 million dollars, I lose it. I get the banks to write down the loans by some percent. So they only get (?) $450 million. Who's lost the $450 million? Not me. Now suppose I get the $450 million to give the banks by selling part of my business to investors. The business goes bankrupt. Now who's lost the remaining $450 million? That's right, the investors. I never had $900 million to lose in the first place.
But, what I do, do is keep the $900 million in loses on my books by seperating the loses from the business to my personal account (or another business). Now I proceed to offset future income with somebody else's losses. |
