WC MN | I think there is something to what you say Steve. We've heard the big numbers all summer and nobody really wants to state how they underachieved compared to the crowd. Our bean crop for instance was very good. It probably ended up as our best farm average in a very long time. That being said it didn't live up to all the 60 BPA talk being spewed. Turns out after talking to honest farmers that I trust, we were all in the same ballpark for yields. Good but not great by any stretch. We'll see if that is isolated to our area or more widespread.
If SATs point is guys are trying to keep quiet of high yields to buoy the market, all we heard about in 14' was how every plant in Illinois had 2 ears and the yield estimates started with a 3. Haven't heard that much this year.
I'm not trying to talk crop up or down. Just voicing what I see. Clearly we have a very good crop nationally. | |
