I know of one young man that got one to purchase land. It takes a lot of paper work to get one. Also you have to qualify for it such as not being too old,not too wealthy, and able to repay it back. His was a 50 year term. Good luck.


Wow I've heard of 40 but not yet a 50. I thought a 30 year note sounded like a lifetime. To think if your 25 yr old or so starting out you will be 75 before its paid for!!! If you live that long. That's ridiculous, a lifetime of paying interest.

I got one about 4 years ago. I was able to get 225,000 which was about 1/4 of the total loan. Was a lot of paper work and have to fill out papers every year but the 1.5% interest is well worth it.
