Almost everybody reporting in from Ill says that this year is good but not as good as 2014. Below are the Sept. corn production tables for 2014 & 2016. It's clear that this year's 174.6 record depends on two (maybe three states), Illinois, Iowa and maybe Minnesota. This year's posted 200 & 196 for Ill & Iowa respectively are significantly higher than 2014's 194 & 185.
It seems to me that some Ill. producers need to come on Agtalk and start posting some "really big" numbers or this whole 175 bpa scenario starts to come into question.
Let's be clear, yields are great but...
