And we have been working hard at trying to explain to share rent landlords why we do not want to plant wheat on their ground. Some of them are dead set on having a wheat/double crop bean rotation. And some years that rotation will knock the ball out of the park. But we still have to try and explain that on "average" we get about a nine bushel per acre average less on double crop beans than full season beans. So you already have to "net profit" 80-100 dollars per acre on the wheat crop to even equal a full season bean crop. But they see stars in the eyes with the income from two crops instead of one. While we get to do twice the work for no more money. But ultimately we tell them we will plant wheat if they insist, even if it looks to be the poorer economic choice. Better than loosing the ground.
