SE SD | I'm glad I asked about this, otherwise I would've been the fool of the farm community this fall, ha! I don't have a drill or a seeder, so I am planning on working the ground with a field cultivator or Landoll VT and spread it over the top on a super calm day, then drag it in and roll it. I might even drag a few times before I spread it on top to ensure every little clod is knocked down. I am kind of a neat freak when it comes to weeds, so I am leaning towards RR alfalfa. I do want to try a small 10-15 acre plot of high ph soil tolerant alfalfa. Sick of stunted crops due to alkaline. | |
