I did some last fall on labor day in wheat stubble, think I would have been fine if it rained, but it didn't and I reseeded this spring. I will never do fall seeding again unless early with lots of moisture.

Do you have any chemical residual that will hurt alfalfa?

RR is good if you have weed problems, but is very spendy. I have some conventional and RR, first year for both so time will tell which is better, but conventional is doing really good at choking out weeds with timely cutting and not being sprayed yet.
