I don't have anything bad to say about Briggs Engines. On the other hand I have yet to find a good Kohler.




That's my feeling too, Briggs engines have served me well, no problems and start easily, even the one that was new last year and the one I bought in the mid 60's. Maybe mine work because they never sit out in the weather, not even overnight dew.
As to Kohler, the ones in JD lawn / garden tractors have never impressed me. They seem to be short lived and very expensive to repair.
