"The new design stems partly from consumer research that showed people understood the value of changing engine oil, to increase the life span of their mower, but they didn't necessarily perform the maintenance.." So you sell this idea to slobs that don't change oil anyway and call it a new feature.
A better air cleaner system to keep more dirt out of the engine and a better cooling system so the oil does not get so hot will certainly help, but no way will they convince me that they would not get at least twice the life out of that engine by giving it timely oil changes.
Might work for the slobs that normally have a mower trashed beyond any hope of use in 2-3 years.
