Federalsburg, MD | I loved this video, I worked for Reid Family when I was younger when they did cantaloupes and watermelons. This is when middle/high school kids did the work. I could tell in 1995 that people my age were already had it too easy to do this work. I think the work went to solely Mexicans shortly after I moved on. I hope you add on to this video with the plastic and tape being pulled up. That is by far the worst job. You get use to pulling fruit but you never get use to the smell of rotten watermelon on your clothes all day. My mother made me spray off with the garden hose before I could come into the house.
Doing this work made we quickly realize the value of a dollar. | |
