West Central IL | Seems like our community, which I consider west of town, is not a cut throat community. At an auction, we may be in a bidding war against each other, but when it's over, everyone still gets along. A farm went for sale late this spring. Not a lot of acres involved. It was offered to us, and one other neighbor. It joined the end of one of our fields, but was right out the neighbors front door, and was originally part of that farm. We both got together on it and decided to do a one shot deal, each submit a bid and that was it. If the high was high enough then that's the one that got it. End of story.
Had another farm a few years ago that would make two of our fields one large one as it set between. Got in a heated bidding war with a neighbor over that one. After it was over everyone was fine with it. | |
