. | I never rented the farm out after John's death, but it also didn't take me a long time to realize that the list of those that I would be willing to rent to was getting shorter and shorter. And I found some so called "neighbors" would willingly take every advantage they could and when I finally put a stop to it, they call me every name they can think of. But as the true friends said those people would not have tried those stunts with the husband, just trying to take advantage of the situation. And again this winter someone who lives nearby (won't call him a neighbor cause I wouldn't know him if I saw him) took the opportunity to go behind my back and try and get some ground away from me since the death of the hired man. Apparently he didn't have the nerve to come and ask me to my face if I planned to keep on. I think he already knew the answer. | |
