Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | nebfarmer - 5/1/2016 11:41 Wifes vehicle is an 08 Enclave. Not one of GM's most reliable builds. It hasn't been too bad but it's got 135,000 on it now. I'd like her to drive it till it drops. She says OK if I activate the Onstar. I've never been around one in use. Does it add any degree of safety? TIA.
My hubs absolutely despises the entire concept of OnStar..........when he bought his pickup in '06, he searched all over everywhere to find one that was not OnStar capable. That said, we do have it on my '05 Envoy and the "good" pickup, and I've told him that as long as I'm driving my mother and the grandkids around, I'll have it. I've used it to unlock more than once, and for a couple minor road incidents, nothing major. But with the emergency response feature, it's just good insurance as far as I'm concerned, especially in winter. YMMV. |
