Yes , we top dress all rye in February with 10 gallons 28. We just subtract it off the corn side dress. We are rye behind double crop beans so little fertility there to push for lots of growth. We like rye at least knee high to waist high, and you must push it along here, in west Ky. Planting date of rye usually Oct 25-30 and corn planting date April 1 .Only 5 cold months to grow !
