Tara did a great job of explaining HTA's. Some places I deal with let you roll them more than once. On more than one occasion I have rolled forward, and the market inverted and rolled back again to pick up a few more pennies.

HTA's have worked alright the last couple years but you have to remember no plan is a sure thing. In years like 2012/13 you will be delivering $3.xx and $4.xx corn while a few of your neighbors are delivering $7.xx and $8.xx corn.

Even though a certain poster would like the world to believe all US producers are "unreliable" and are still holding on to $8.00 corn I'm willing to bet more corn was delivered with a 3 or 4 as the front number than a 7 or 8 in 2012/13.
