You wouldn't survive up here hauling grain. Most guys don't. Was offered a job a couple weeks ago that with my trailer would have paid 2.93 loaded. A 1000 bu rig would have been $2.33. The big boys would have been up around $4.00 but their up front cost and wear & tear will eat that extra $1 up quick. yeah that's why I won't haul grain. Too many scabs. I'll stick with construction dump work and heavy haul. I can usually maintain at least $2 a running mile. |
