Subject: RE: Looking at '89 International 9300 need advise

Northeast Louisiana
I have a 89 9300 IH truck. I bought it in 1998 from a fleet trucking company. It was well maintained. I gave $12,500 in summer of 98. I am still using that truck now. 18 years later with very little expense. It has served me great. I still like the truck. I use it now dedicated to a lowboy hauling dozer. Before that, it was mostly hopper bottom hauling my crops.

It has a Cummins 855 mechanical. Which is what I wanted to begin with. No egr crap. Very simple setup to work on. The most money I spent on it is for the air conditioning. Never been inside engine. Replaced starter, tires, batteries, front springs, Engine had complete overhaul when I bought it from fleet. One thing mine is from south. Never been in road salt up north. It ran regional across South. Frame and metel still in excellent shape.

If I were you, get the Vin #, take it to a truck dealer and have them tell you what's on truck. They can tell you exactly engine, transmission, etc about the truck.

Lots of trucks sold in Texas, Houston, Dallas, etc. Look there.

I enjoyed the 9300. Still like it for its simplicity and well design.
