deep prairie soils of IA and IL that get good rainfall can mineralize a lot of juice. they could go decades without P or K and can raise 150+ corn with ZERO N if the conditions are right
thin soils and fickle climates can make you look like a fool pretty quick if you don't keep up with fertility
