lawfarms - 12/24/2015 21:09 It takes a big tractor and $$$$$ strip till rig to apply. A cart and 100hp tractor can cover a lot of ground spreading dry. Several talk about splitting the strips.... Your plants roots should grow all the way threw the soil profile. So I can't see spending money on a strip till rig and a bigger tractor to pull it. To get to higher yields I need to build my fertility. I'm growing above average yields with broadcasting so it hard for me to open my check book to buy into strip till.
So? We are growing above average corn with strip-till and spending less money doing it. We have absolutely no problem maintaining our fertility with a banding program. If it didn't work we wouldn't be doing it. |
