1000 trouble free hours - that's great. But will the r series give 10-15 k hours of hard work, without major electrical issues and failings? In my opinion, the 8x00 and 8x10 series Deeres will be the ultimate in reliability and sufficient comfort for many years. But each to their own I guess. I just don't see the point in getting new paint that is probably not as reliable as the older ones, and really only gives you a leather seat and integrated, touch screen controls (which admittedly can be beneficial for some applications, but usually doesn't give you a 10% better yield and improved bottom line). Unless you have the acres and equity to justify trading every couple of years, which many don't.
