It has worked for me. Last one was well over a year, I'm thinking close to a 1 1/2 years. Doc wants to replace my one knee, I'm holding out. I have a great PA that gives the shots to me, the only thing I feel is the numbing cold spray they use to pre-numb injection area. I can even tell the difference walking to the parking lot after getting a shot, next day even better. I just have to remember not to screw my knee up, doing stupid stuff, that's what gets inflammation going again for me. I get the series of three shots, not just the one shot deal.
