Mike, thanks for the clarification.  My old batwing mower had full length bolts in it when I went and checked it today.  Looked at my 3 pt. 8 footer too, different design but bolts as well.  These in my "newer" one are the tapered type.  Sprayed the threads before lunch, will see if I can't put a little oomph on 'em here after while.
