Put the ole camel out to "pasture" (desert), so it doesn't eat all the bananas.

Anyone who has access to camels for transportation would also have access to Cheap Oil.

So, borrow a truck, buy the fuel and get all 3000 bananas to market.

Figuring 1/2 lb per banana?  3000 bananas x 0.5 lb/ banana = 1500 lbs of banana

1500 lbs of banana x 0.59/ lb (current price where I live) = $885 of potential income

1000 miles at 10 mpg = 100 gallons of fuel.   100 gallons of fuel at, say $2.50/gal (Mid-East price) = $250 to get those bananas to market.   I'd say it's cheaper to get rid of that camel, than to feed it.

Leave it to Imperialist Americanize to upset nature and neglect mention of hidden fees.

Additional carbon tax for global warming caused by nasty fuel burning truck.

Additional severance tax for depletion of valuable, but hated, carbon fuel.

Mechanical fees for repair of truck during blinding sand storm.

Fees for safety escort of truck bearing fresh fruit.  Camel protects it's food so no escort required.

Monthly PETC membership fees for Old Camel Retirement Village where camels are treated with dignity, ethically and humanly.  You do not simply get rid of a valuable family member, you provide for it's future.

Yes, leave it to the greedy Imperialist Americanize to make no provision for getting borrowed truck (or camel BTW) home.  "How you going to keep them down on the farm, after they've seen . . ."?  IS that all you think about, getting away from home?

One final thought (from the problem), you do not own the camel; you are the camel.         Now do you want to rethink getting rid of that dear and valued creature. **       :
