Put the ole camel out to "pasture" (desert), so it doesn't eat all the bananas.  

Anyone who has access to camels for transportation would also have access to Cheap Oil.

So, borrow a truck, buy the fuel and get all 3000 bananas to market.

Figuring 1/2 lb per banana?  3000 bananas x 0.5 lb/ banana = 1500 lbs of banana

1500 lbs of banana x 0.59/ lb (current price where I live) = $885 of potential income

 

1000 miles at 10 mpg = 100 gallons of fuel.   100 gallons of fuel at, say $2.50/gal (Mid-East price) = $250 to get those bananas to market.   I'd say it's cheaper to get rid of that camel, than to feed it.
