Subject: RE: Sweet corn separation from grain corn?

Centralia, MO
When we planted a corn variety plot, we always planted the endrows to sweet corn since we wanted the rows off early anyway. The sweetcorn was 85 day corn and the earliest field corn was usually in the 105 to 110 day corn. Never had a problem except that most of the neighbors started expecting the sweet corn to be there every year! :) There was usually plenty to go around so I guess I'd say it worked out real well. Of course, what's the maturity of your field corn going to be, probably close to that 85 day mark?
