central nebraska | I get what your trying to do here with percentages, but its not that black and white. I'm sure someone else could explain this better, but these numbers are based on standard deviations.
Lets say the poor crop for corn falls into the 0-60bu category(not sure on actual figures, just a reference). More acres on average will likely end up closer to 60 then 0, leaving you with an average of say 45, instead of a median of 30. If you simply take the acres times the median averages you will be short imho, which I think you already found out. | |
