You were the one that brought up the extremes.    "My yields have varied 100 bu in 3 years and acres by 655."
Livestock guys deal with extremes just like crop guys do without the benefit of crop insurance.



I buy feed for livestock and sell grain.     Neither one is easy to consistently make the correct move in real time.    

It's basically the same thing, you're trying to make money on your move.    You're either right or wrong and it cost money when you're wrong.    

With the benefit of hindsight it's really easy to hedge feed needs or sell crops and always come out looking good.



This whole thing started with you stating that you didn't know the economics of feeding hogs.   I agree with you on that.

I tried to show you why feed use for hogs was probably near the peak and why it would likely go down some.   Don't shoot the messenger.
