I've been told that they are called tillers, and they are a sign of a happy plant that has everything it needs. I've seen where the main plant will cannibalize the tillers if it gets dry, so i always figure they're a good thing.


Yes sign of high fertility and we should of planted thicker.....then next year same population is too thick....
