Why would you assume soybean burns organic matter? Granted when you grow soybeans as a crop it doesn't contribute much to SOM due to the fact the biomass produced and returned to soil is much less than other crops. I would think that grown in a mix with other higher carbon plants it would not be a detriment to organic matter.
