Subject: RE: Geothermal Heat question

Oakdale, Il.
We have a 3 well system for a 1500 square foot house. The gas heat will kick on somewhere around 0 degrees depending on the wind chill. When it gets down below 5 or 10 degrees the system runs almost contiuously, which leads me to wonder at what point is it cheaper to run the gas heat instead of the geothermal. I realize that the most effeicient depends on the cost of gas compared to the cost of ele. but there is a point where the gas is cheaper to operate. I just would like to know where the breaking point is.
