Subject: RE: Geothermal Heat question

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Close to the same age of house here. We have been below zero a few nights this year and have not had the auxiliary heat come on. 4 wells 180 ft. deep.
2 years ago we were having problems like you mentioned. Ended up installing a whole new system inside but ours was 18 years old at the time. I'm pretty sure the auxiliary has not come on since the new unit was installed. Yours is new enough it shouldn't be having problems due to age.
You should have somebody check the fluid pressure. Might have air in the system. Could also be a faulty sensor somewhere telling the auxiliary heat to come on too soon. Pumps were the first thing to check.
