We re-did our kitchen recently and the wife got new light fixtures that are clear glass. She wanted the vintage "edison bulb" look in these new fixtures, but, I wanted led. Found them on Amazon, but, the price about makes my heart stop. They came on Saturday and I gotta say that they look really nice. Guess they were worth the price.

Sorry, don't know how to make that a hot link?????
Unless you figure on moving out in the next year, you should be able to recoup the investment with energy savings. Look at your electric companies website for some energy saving rebates or LED bulbs or other - should be something there.
That light sounds like it will be used daily and if so, it makes the most sense to use LED's in fixtures that get used the most . . . . quicker return on investment.
