When William Scully died in 1900, I believe, he owned 225,000 acres in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Along with 2500 acres in Ireland. Its been divided among his descendants over the years but I believe most of it is still held by Scully descendants as it was in a trust where they could not sell but I think they can now. Some of the top land available in Illinois. Don't know a lot about the land in other states. Quite an interesting and successful story.
scully still owns a large % of the better farms in gage county NE & several counties in north part of Kansas, if he wouldnt pay his real estate taxes gage county NE would shut down the courthouse & lock up the doors
