Subject: RE: foam markers

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I agree with the above comments about using a lightbar with coverage mapping versus a foam marker.

If you are intent on going with a foam marker don't go with a cheap model. The low end farmer grade units that were popular several years ago are not worth the effort in my opinion. I have owned them and worked on them. The problem with many foam markers is the "marks" are difficult to control in varying conditions. It is often difficult to get the few large globs of foam that you need. Sometimes they don't even last for the next pass especially if on tilled soil on a nice sunny day.

The last foamer I did use was a heavy duty unit with a larger compressor. The quality of the foam was much better with that unit. After I went with a GPS system, I used it for a while as I felt it might be handy in some unusual situations. I really didn't use it much and saw that foamers were going out of style so I sold it off the sprayer while it still had some value.
