Subject: RE: Picking corn

Northeast Indiana (Auburn)
My father picked with a IH 24 mounted on an H then mounted it on his new 1951 M. He upgraded to a New Idea 301 and put it on the M. That picker was not too good in mud or slippery conditions because of the two small wheels that carried the back half of the husking bed. In about 1970 he bought a New Idea 324. We used that until 1986 when I switched to 30" rows and found a real low use 325. In 1987 I put up a drying bin. Do I miss the ear corn days? No and I have a back that shows what 38 years of handling ear corn will do to you.
