SW MN | Take it from a guy that has been there and done that. For 22 yrs I drove truck and farmed, I was home most nites but left early mornings. My wife worked and perty much took care of the kids. She never once complained. I thought I had to do it for my family. My oldest daughter even ask me if I could be home more. To make a long story short I quit trucking in 08. I was home every morning and wow I didn't know what I was missing. Just to see the kids, good mood or bad. I wouldn't go back if they doubled the rate, family is more important. My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2010. We will never know the cause but sometimes I wonder if stress from me not being around had something to do with it. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't take anything for granted and family in more important than $. | |
