What Rock Road said pretty well covers me also. Just finished my 3rd season with a IH 900. Had a 8 row White that did a great job for 12+ years. But I shell with a 6 row head. Many small fields. Should have with from the 6 row to 12 instead of the 8. The weather here gives many fewer days than it use to get things done. I only plant 250-300 ac. corn per year. Same with beans. Use a 16/15 for them. I now do have a 6 row for very small fields and to spot in if have to. If you have a tractor big enough to pull a 12, you'll be very happy you did. Another thing, I can now sidedress 12 rows, that speeded that up greatly also. When you have small and few fields that have no straight lines, sidedressing the same number of rows is the only way to go. Maybe keep the 7000 for small jobs.
