Middlesex County, Ontario | The dishes in the wheels are offset, usually inwards on the inside tires and outside on the outside tires. By flipping the wheels around he went from dished in to dished out. Now he has more room between the tire and tranny to work. You can see he left the center cast piece in place and just flipped the dishes.
He could have moved the right tire to the left side and the left tire to the right side. Then the tires would be facing the right way.
What easier?
1.Jack up one side, unbolt the tire, rotate it 180 degrees (facing backwards), bolt it back on, now go the other side and repeat.
Or,
2. Jack up the entire rear end, unbolt one tire, lean it against the wall, unbolt the other tire, roll that tire all the way around to the other side, bolt it back on, take the tire leaning against the wall and roll it to the other side, bolt it back on. All the while sketched out a little bit because the entire rear end is up on blocks instead of just one side.
