Ontario's middle east | The one thing for the younger crowd that thinks everybody wins owning ground needs to be cognitive of, is that some of that land has involuntarily changed hands as well. It's only a certain kind of equity that can pay the seed and fert bill. I knew guys with the "it always goes up theory" in the past that could not keep it. It was the guys that could cash flow on tough years that ended up gaining ownership of that ground because they were the low cost producer, not because they had better foresight on land values than there neighbours. You want to strive to be that guy. Buying the kinda land that you get to keep will follow. | |
