East Central South Dakota
"but it takes rented ground profit to pay for the bought ground."

we might be entering a phase where it takes land owned and paid for to pay for the rented ground. Dog ass tired tonight. God don't make anymore land, but we were making it tillable today. Tore out one of my last fence's and picked up all the rocks, plus taking out a single row of trees that split 100 acres into two 50's. All total picked up about 6 acres. Yes, it was snowing all day on and off. Wife stayed out there like a trooper. She kept asking when will the boys get home from college. LOL

Why did our dads plant a single row of Chinese elm [ the s$!&&est tree in the world ] in the middle of the field ? No wildlife benefits and no wind protection. pretty much just a pain in the ass.

Basis so crappy we have to increase land and production to make up for the basis hit. Thats farmer thinking there. LMAO
