IRA's and sep's are better investments than a new pickup. Participating in the stock market is a good way to diversify your investments. Our ancestors diversified by raising cattle, hogs, chickens, and grain. Most of us are focused on grain and should spread out our risk. If your banker and accountant think it's a good idea you'd better go for it.
