MO | I've been dribbling 32% side dress for 2 years now. I like to put down 50 lbs or better preplant, then come back as late as I can. The better the canopy on the corn, the less direct sunlight can hit it to volatilize it. I've heard claim to that the leaves on the corn can absorb some of the N if (when) some of it volatilizes, kind of like a foliar feed. Works good for me, even in the last two super dry years, the corn didn't show it lacked any N, just lacked water.
