Sometimes I wonder if the sprayer operator even noticed he was running down rows with the autosteer.

Owning your own sprayer is reputed to pay well.

I have applied 32% side dressed with my home made sprayer, just set the pressure to my usual 30 psi and selected orifices for the drop tubes and weighed the drop tube to keep them as close to the ground as possible. Where leaves did pick up the drop tubes the 32% burned a streak across the leaves, but they seemed to have survived that with a decent yield despite not much nitrogen applied. I was side dressing 16 gallons of 32% to the acre and that year I sprayed 8 gallons of glyphosate brew to the acre. You have to account for the density of the fertilizer when choosing the orifice and go.
