SE MN | I think some of it is also more rented ground it takes a lot of time to pick rocks compared to rolling them especially if you don't have long term leases. We've rolled some too it is nicer to combine but we still pick up rocks with the gator on our own ground. Just my opinion
Also labor is harder to find. When I was in school kids summer job was to be on rock picking crew and walk fields. Not just the farm kids either. Now its been awhile since I've seen anyone hire a crew. Lot easier to hire one guy for cab tractor job and faster too.
