+1 on getting a good box. If you buy a brand like MAC, Cornwell, MATCO, or even Snap On (last one is way over priced IMO) You can get a little smaller one to begin with and you have trading value when you outgrow it. Depth (from front to back) is a big plus for me. Alot of these hardware store/magize cheapies have no depth which matters more than you think. The other thing with the name brand ones is it is easy to find a used one.

also, after being in my shop for a while i have dicsovered it is nice to have a couple sets of common wrenches, a vice grip, and a couple gresent wrenches hanging on the wall. I keep a couple full good sets in the box and have at least 2 or 3 of everything from 5/16 up to 3/4 hanging on the wall. I have fond when just doing a minor quick task its nice to just grab a wrench off the wall rather than out of the box.
