Subject: RE: Stocking new shop... tools and equipment

East central Iowa
Congratulations on the new shop and the chance to fill it with the "right " tools and many of them. If your neighbors would be willing, visit their shops to see how things fit, what you would do differently and what you hadn't thought of yet. That helped us when we did ours. We added anchor points in the floor for whatever use we might have for them.

We ended up with a big tool box from Menards. Bought one from Craftsman but returned it as it was NOT heavy duty even though it was labeled "premium heavy duty" or something like that. The Menards one has been good and a lot cheaper than the big name brands. What would I do next time? Probably what a lot of others have done. Find one on ebay or craigslist and go for the gold. You will never be sorry for getting quality. Have fun with the adventure!
