Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
I've several modern Briggs (10 years or newer) that start as well as Honda's. The older Briggs are horrible.

My guess is it isn't the engine, it is the gas. My apologies to the ethanol fans, but that stuff has ruined gasoline. We used to have a clear gas pump at one of the local cardlocks, but for some reason (regulations I'm sure) they took it out. Now for small engines you can either buy AV gas at the airport, or some guys mix a little diesel with Premium and say it works okay. I try and buy AV gas at the end of the year to fill everything up, no problems then. Otherwise the ethanol will go bad before winter is up, and it eats up the fuel lines and gums up the carbs. Stabil doesn't seem to help, I actually think it makes it worse.
