Take the carb off and clean the main jet. You leave them sit... the corn juice solidifies in the jet. Sometimes getting them running on a shot of ether is enough that it will clear. Other times... not so much. For what it's worth, this happens to Honda's as well. I still intensly hate Briggs engines tho.
What you might do... get yourself some STIHL mixing oil and mix at 50:1 and use that gas in this engine. Yeah, I know it's a 4 stroke.... but it will burn the mix just fine. Whatever is in that mix oil seems to prevent the ethanol from plugging the jet when it's left sitting.
